Today was Caroline’s first day at Children’s Day Out! I’m pretty sure absolutely sure that I was waaaay more stressed out than necessary, but I think that’s what Momma’s are supposed to be like. She will go a couple days a week for 5 hours/day through the rest of the month. Then next month, she’ll move over to their full-time preschool. She has a 5-day/week slot, but Grammy might keep her once a week instead.
Since she’s never stayed anywhere except at home or at Grammy’s, I was really worried there would be a major crying scene when we left her. Nope! She saw the little play kitchen in the classroom, and was right at home! Ironically, she was the only girl in her class. I wondered why the teacher said “This must be Caroline!” when she walked in. :)
I was feeling all great about her being there, until about 45 minutes before I was supposed to go get her. They called and said that she “didn’t seem to want to nap” and that she’d been crying quite a bit about naptime…and suggested that we might just want to go ahead and come get her early. Daddy went to rescue the girly. :) She completely passed out as soon as she got home! When asked if she was ready to go back to school next week, she replied “---k”…that’s “okay”. :)
Here’s a few peeks at her morning…
Her first “artwork” and daily report…
I have a feeling that “a little teary” is code for “threw a major fit”. :) Also not surprised by the “Today I Ate: Very Little”…
I really hope she gets the hang of this “school” thing next week! :)

Glad that she did so well!!
ReplyDeleteLove the shades! It's so hard to let them grow up =(
ReplyDeleteAwwww! She's adorable! And she'll get the hang of it! :)
ReplyDeleteoh this is a sweet post...first I LOVE that there are TWO Diet DPs on the end table...y'all are our kind of family!! LOVE her outfit and shades!! Sweet pic of Caroline and Daddy walking to class! This made me a little teary just reading about it! She will love school and I bet she will "run the place" being the only girl for a while! I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!! Your little girl is precious!!! : )
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I got a giggle out of the bathroom comments. I remember when I used to pour over them (two boys at a time) when I picked the kids up from school! Funny how you forget things so quickly...
