Sadly, my little Valentine and I are spending the day at home instead of school. She started feeling puny and feverish late yesterday morning and was running a temp of about 102 by dinner time. We met Grammy and Pops at Cracker Barrel (our standing Sunday night dinner date), but the poor thing wouldn’t eat a THING! I didn’t even think about it until she had nearly finished it, but she drank most of a cup of milk. Then there was a little voice in my head telling me “fever + milk = bad news”. Yup…it’s true. Thankfully, she waited through the 15 minute ride home and didn’t “frow up” until she was in our bedroom on the way to take a bath. EWWWWWW!!! Curdled milk is the nastiest thing EVER! She loved the bath, though, and after an apple juice box, she was ready for bed. No more “frow up”, but she did run a 102 fever all night. We gave Advil at 6:30 pm and 1:30 am, and by 7:15 am she was down to about 101. The last time I checked around 9:00 am, she was under 100!!
I had to make an early-morning (6:15 am!!) run to school to leave sub plans, but it’s been a pretty enjoyable day home with my girl so far. She hasn’t eaten a thing yet, but she did request “chicky nuggets”…so I’m thinking a trip to the Chick-fil-A drivethru is in order for lunch. :)
Here’s how the girl has spent part of her morning…”cooking” and “eating” coffee, biscuits and gravy. (Pants-free, of course!)
Here are a few photos I managed to get a few weeks ago in her Valentine’s shirt. She wasn’t really into it, and I was losing natural light, but I thought they came out cute. Cute enough to put them on her Valentine’s cards that we sent to friends and family. (Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE VistaPrint.com??)

The card was great and you already know how the boys felt about it..."hugs and kisses"...from a girl...EWWWWW! :0) You're right. Frow up milk is so icky...not looking forward to that again. The boys are hardle ever sick and Garrett has never thrown up. Maybe I just jinxed myself?????
