We've been in the new house for almost a month now, and I promise I'm working on getting things put together so I can take some good photos to share. Mostly, I'm just waiting on our new living room furniture to finally come in, then it'll really feel like home for good.
About a week before the big move, we had our good friend (and photographer) Jon come over to take a simple photo of our family in front of the "old house" one last time. Nothing fancy at all. No special clothes or hairstyles. In fact, the girls had already had baths for the night, so they are in their PJs. I look a little ragged from my day at school. Molly didn't behave too well, either. But this is us in our first family home. :)
Both girls have adjusted really well to the new house, but they have also asked many times to go see the old house. We finally drove by the other night and, of course, they were sad that we couldn't go inside. I don't think that house is actually occupied yet, since we sold it to a couple who are planning to use it as rental property. Caroline read my mind when she said "It feels like we just came to this house yesterday!" We all really miss the old 'hood. I'm so excited for all the construction in our new neighborhood to be finished (there are new houses being built on our right, across the street and a vacant lot to be built on in February to our left). The Parade of Homes "Showcase Home" is on the street behind us, so I'm hoping it will direct some good attention to our neighborhood for potential buyers...and new neighbors!
