Today is our 14th wedding anniversary! When one of my students asked about the flowers on my desk, I told her what today is and then said "Yeah, I was only 12 when I got married." She didn't get it...and I had to quickly explain my joke. ;)
Here we are on 3-13-99
This pretty much sums up our relationship...me telling him what to do and him just laughing at me. ;)
I totally loved my "Cinderella" wedding dress. There are quite of few pictures of me looking like I'm being swallowed by all the tulle.
Here's one of our wedding party. We were all so young!! Darren is still pretty close with all of his groomsmen. I just wish I saw my bridesmaids more often!
He surprised me with these beautiful lavender roses at school. Normally he sends yellow roses, which is what was in my bouquet. These might be my new favorite!
While looking through old pictures from our wedding, I also found this one from our first Christmas party in 1996. We looked like babies! He was 22 and I was 19.
Oh, and I almost forgot...this is what I had delivered to him at work. It sure helps to know the owner of the local Great American Cookie Co!! She made sure this got to him first thing in the morning. There wasn't a whole lot left when he brought it home, because he was sweet enough to share with all the ladies in his office. Not that he probably had much choice. It totally cracks me up that he is the ONLY man in an office of probably 7 or 8 women. Guess that's what most men get in a female-dominated profession like teaching...at least in junior high or lower. We always joke that, between work and home, he is swimming in a "sea of estrogen".
