"Should've Known Better"...**Updated**

Unfortunately, the title of this post does NOT refer to 1987 song of the same name by the awesomely mulletted Richard Marx. (His was the first concert I ever went to!)

Sadly, "should've known better" is what Darren is telling me after I tried to recapture part of my youth tonight. Just from seeing the photo above, you can probably guess what I'm talking about. Right now, I'm sitting with my leg elevated and an icepack on my right knee. I was doing pretty good until I decided I needed to look back and talk to Ami. BIG mistake! I'm not such a hotshot anymore, and really need to focus all of my attention on looking ahead! Although it could be a very good workout (I don't remember being winded while skating in 8th grade!), I think I'll probably avoid the rink for a while...

p.s. I don't think I've done any serious damage, but I'm anticipating a nice bruise developing soon. I'll try to keep you posted on it's progress, i.e. the full rainbow of colors I'm sure it'll turn!

**Update**

Here's the knee the next day...lovely! It feels about as good as it looks!

  1. FUNNY! Sorry, but it is. Totally sounds like something I would do! Speaking of looking back, Eric was cleaning out his school box from back in the day, trying to get ready for the move, when he found a couple of cassettes. Yes, folks, I said cassettes...remember those? Anyway, they were MC Hammer and Fresh Prince and the DJ. Ah, the memories...and we had a good laugh or two as well!

  2. Oh, I spent my whole child hood in a skating rink & met my husband as an adult in a skating rink! Still feel like doing YMCA or the Hokey Pokey?
