Just a quick, heartwarming story from today...
As I drove to school this morning, I realized that my gas tank was basically on empty. And since I had a meeting over at the library right after school, I figured I better go fill up (or at least get a little) during my lunch/planning break. So, I headed over to Wal-Mart, and decided I might as well fill up while I was there.
Now, don't get me wrong...I have no problem at all pumping my own gas...but it's just not something I do very often. I'm fortunate enough to have a great hubs who does that for me without me even having to suggest it.
Anyway, while I was pumping my gas, this elderly lady at the pump next to me asked if I knew how to get the lid off of her gas tank. I walked over and unscrewed the cap for her, and she mentioned that she'd never put gas in "this car" before. I just assumed it was a new car, and it was just different from her old one. Then she went on to say that her husband always filled the car up with gas, and that he had just passed away. I told her how sorry I was for her loss, and she smiled. Then I told her that my husband always fills my car up with gas, and that I was going to be much more appreciative of that.
She was just so sweet! She even asked me if the pump would shut off on it's own "when it was full". She thanked me for my help and got into her Cadillac. I called hubs as soon as I got back in the car and thanked him for always keeping the car full of gas. :)
On a less sentimental note...here is my latest "coveted thing"...

It's a Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lens. It's supposed to be excellent in low light, which is primarily where I take most of my photos. I am kind've tired of always having to put my bulky external flash on, to get enough light, but not to have to use the horrible in-camera flash.
Does anyone out there have this lens? Do you LOVE it?? I am seriously thinking this is going on the Christmas list for hubs...
