A "real picnic" on the mountain...

A couple of weeks ago, Darren suggested we take a drive up to a nearby state park, located on the highest mountain in the state. We finally decided to do it after church today. We loaded up around 10:00 and made it back home by 2:00. It was a perfect way to spend a few hours on a gorgeous autumn Sunday afternoon. We stopped by Sonic on the way there and got some chicken strips. We had also packed some small snacks and a table cloth. We mentioned to Caroline that there would probably be picnic tables there, but she insisted that it wouldn't be a "real picnic" unless we ate on the ground. So we did. And it was fantastic! :)
