Check yourself!

Ever since Olive (the Elf, for those who don't already know) made her grand reappearance this Christmas season, Caroline has been waking up during the night, usually anywhere between 11 pm and 2 am. She wanders across the house to our room, swings open the door and just stands there. Sometimes one of us can just "feel" her standing in the doorway, other times she announces her presence with some silly excuse for being there. To preface this, has always been a great sleeper, with minor exceptions when she's sick or when Maggie was first born and she lost her mind for a few months. So this is definitely NOT NORMAL.

But I finally think I have figured it out! Whenever one of us is walking her back to bed, usually to turn her music back on (that's the most common silly excuse), she is scoping out the kitchen, dining room and living room, looking for Olive's new location. We're totally on to her now!

So last night, I had a little chat with Olive and she decided to have a few words (via written "message", as Caroline calls it) and warn her about this dangerous habit.

She was very quiet as I read this to her, then looked quite somber. I think she got the message. We'll see...tonight!
