There's a "binky bandit" on the loose in our house! Her name is Molly! This all started last Friday when I came home to find a Soothie pacifier crumbled on the living room floor. She had snagged it from the window sill in Caroline's room. I found pieces of it for hours. Then Sunday, she got a clear Avent pacifier off of our bed. Never did find the nipple from that one. I suppose it's somewhere in our backyard by now, if you know what I mean. Grandma's first day (Tuesday) saw the demise of Caroline's favorite pink Gerber "Natural" bink. So we thought, "Get all the binks OFF of the floor, and problem solved!" WRONG! Grandma informed me during my lunchtime phone call home that there was a slight problem...Molly had snatched the "booger bulb" from the coffee table!!! Ugh! Then tonight, I accidentally left Caroline's new favorite bink (recently purchased from the new Target) on her floor gym, and in the blink of an eye, I caught the bandit red-pawed! But then I wasn't sure what to do...I took it from her, firmly told her "NO!" and then popped her on the rear. Please...do any of you have any suggestions for breaking this destructive habit??? It's only just happened in the last week, and Caroline has been here more than 2 months...I don't get it! Help, please!
HA! That's so funny. I'm sorry I'm laughing because I know you don't think it's funny. I would just keep getting on to her and then maybe she'll get the point. I have this look I give my dogs and they know I mean business!

I would tell you to put her in a time out, but I guess that's not an option...is it? I have no pets, save for two children, and don't know what they are capable of. Braden used to steal Garrett's nunnies (pacifiers) from his crib at night. Braden didn't even take a nunnie after he was two months old. That Molly is definitely developing a jealous streak...bad doggie!
ReplyDeleteI didn't have to do this when Kedrin was little even with two dogs in the house but I would give Molly her own binky...with either hot sauce or bitter apple on it. I would be willing to bet she didn't go for the other binkies in the house!
