As I mentioned in my most recent post, I am now featured on MomDot.com's "Boutiques" listing under "Designers". In addition to being a great site to advertise your blog and products, they also have some fun ideas for posts.
One of the things they feature on Saturdays is called "Small Talk Six". It's basically just an icebreaker/survey type list. Even though it's changed each Saturday, you can post it any time during the week. Then you go to their site to add your post to the Mr. Linky list!
This week’s topic is "Six Ways NOT to Rub Me" or “6 things other people do that make you personally uncomfortable.” You can answer this with a list of 6 words, 6 phrases, 6 sentences, 6 paragraphs, 6 photos, 6 videos, etc . . .
First of all, before I start my list, I just have to say that when I saw the title "Six Ways NOT to Rub Me" it made me think of that old Johnny Gill song "Rub You the Right Way"! (Anyone else remember that???) It was a great song from around 1990 and it automatically reminds me of junior high when I hear it.
Anyway, back to what I'm really here for...6 things that rub me the WRONG way!
1) ...People who use poor grammar and spelling. Especially those who know better. I can understand that some of my students are going to have poor grammar and spelling, because many of them are not native English speakers. Otherwise, there's just no excuse!
2) ...PDA. Seriously, people! You don't need to show all that lovin' in public!
3) ...People who don't do what they say they're going to do! Enough said.
4) ...Being told about a change in plans at the last minute. I'm a planner, people...don't mess with my plan!
5) ...The parking lot at my local Target. I swear they purposely built it on an incline so my cart would roll away from the car every time! Not bad when I'm by myself. Very bad when Caroline is sitting in the cart!!!
6) ...Parents who believe it is my job as a teacher to "raise" their children...yet complain that I shouldn't be trying to teach them decent values. Come on people, they're YOUR children!
So...what rubs YOU the wrong way?

ReplyDeleteThat would be so fun to get the girls together this summer! Caroline is so cute...her outfit at her playdate with Ava just cracked me right up...such a big girl!! I may come to FSM for a few days in July or August so I'll let you know and maybe we can have a playdate...wouldn't that be so fun!!
