Oh Toodles!!!

**Disclaimer**

I must begin this post by saying that I never in a million years expected to be the parent who knew all the cartoons their kids watched and the songs they sing.

That being said...

Yes, this is my 10-month-old (tomorrow), clapping along to the theme song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ("come inside, it's fun inside")...

Sometimes I feel like a bad parent for clicking on Playhouse Disney every morning and letting her watch for up to 2 hours (while playing, napping, etc), but I've realized after being home for the past few days that the shows really are quite educational...and also very entertaining!

Here are a few of our her other faves...

Choo Choo Soul...it teaches letters and numbers in a decidedly "urban" manner...
think beat-boxing and raps...

Handy Manny! He's just plain cute...I think Mommy Caddy has a little crush! We even have the Handy Manny CD in the car!
("Hop up, jump in! Come on let's go! Hop up, jump in...Si vamanos!"...See, we're helping her become bilingual!)

These are the Imagination Movers...and they are AWESOME!
("Hey! What's the big idea?!")
We have their album on the iPod, too!
So...What are your favorite kids shows?

  1. Don't ya love it that they'll stay in one place for at least a little bit?!?! We start watching Thomas the Train at 4:45 and wait for Daddy. He leaves here at 6:45am and doesn't get home until 6 most evenings so it's been a looooong day by 4:45...ha!! At least we get to see him for lunch though. She's really not that interested in any other shows at the moment...weird. Maybe she'll be a conductor when she grows up..ha!

The pics of Caddy below are gorgeous!! I think her eyes already "pop"!!

  2. Joe likes Diego, Dora (much to Dan's dismay), Jack's Big Music Show (but they moved it to late night so he never gets to see it now), and Sesame Street. I try not to let him watch too much, but he likes it! I think a little is okay. After all, we spent many a morning watching Saturday morning cartoons, and we turned out ok. Right? :)

  3. That's hlarious! We love mornings with Mickey still, and since he's a little older, he loves OSO because we're all about superheroes and special agents. I could leave on Noggin all day because I don't have to worry about inappropriate commericials and even advertisements for toys. When he does see them, all he tells me is how he needs all this stuff. He said, "gracias" the other night when I was tucking him into bed and I replied, "denanda", which is hilarious since we watch Diego and Dora. He laughed at me when I did that. We were at Wendy's the other day and he said his oranges were "delicioso" like Dora's backpack says.

  4. We watch all those same shows. We've began watching Agent Oso (although, I believe Oso is a bit confused and, well,...dumb) Elli, our 7 month old, LOVES Mickey.

  5. Braden and Garrett have mostly moved past Playhouse Disney, although Mickey and his clubhouse are perinneal favorites. They have also given up Sprout for the most part. Both love Noggin (but I can't stand that Yo Gabba Gabba show). "It's like preschool on tv!" To Eric's delight, they love the classics on Boomerang like Scooby Doo, Smurfs, Snorks, and Yogi Bear! I do worry a little that Braden can dial up his own favorite channels, but they are limited to a few shows a day. He's just gifted...I think...

  6. Shake, shake, shake-a, skakeable you! That's my shout out to the "Mobers". Drew loves there CD and show. He really likes us to find the Playhouse Disney website and play songs, games, etc. Playhouse Disney is our fave! Drew really likes Shaun the Sheep. It comes on after Micky Mouse Clubhouse in the morning. We used to catch it every morning before heading off for school. Sadly, we haven't been up that early this week to watch. (Boo hoo!!!!) I personally like Choo Choo Soul. I think it's so creative!
