Swimmin' Ladybug...

After Caroline's first cold and traumatic swimming experience, we were a little hesitant to try again. But we figured "What the hey!" and headed off to the pool this morning. When we got there, it was about 80° outside and the water in the baby pool wasn't too bad. Naturally, she clung pretty tightly to Daddy (who was not in the water), but once I held her on my lap on the side of the pool, and gently splashed her with some water...we finally took the "plunge" into the 12"-deep water. After about five minutes of sitting with me, we decided to try the ladybug floaty...and we had SUCCESS!!! She absolutely loved it and just lounged around for about 30 minutes!! She even got the hang of kicking...hopefully this is the beginning of a love of the water and stress-free swim lessons in a year or so!

Here's a (somewhat blurry) video of our little ladybug kicking her feet!

Oh, and the ladybug floaty is from Target...and it is AWESOME! I definitely recommend it for all little babes. It offered such great sun protection...although I also slathered her quite thoroughly with SPF 50! :)
