About last night...

Well, we did finally did it.

We spent the night away from Caroline for the first time. She stayed at Grammy and Pops' house while we went to Little Rock for a concert. We stayed at Embassy Suites, which we really like because they have free breakfast...and really nice rooms.

When we dropped girly off, I was worried about a big crying scene...both her and me. But neither us of cried. In fact, we snuck out so well, that Grammy says she hardly noticed we were gone. I don't know whether to be relieved or worried.

Anyway, we got into LR in time to check in to our hotel, take a little nap, then head out for a quick dinner at Wild Hog BBQ before the show.

We have seen more than our fair share of concerts at Alltel Arena, and as far as "experiences" go, this one definitely stands out. Sure, the concert was great, but I'm sure I won't soon forget the moment I realized that the 12-year-old girl on my left had just lost her entire dinner (and possibly lunch) all over the floor! Or the older guy (think 60-ish) in front of us who was sporting a braided rat-tail!!! Then there were the inevitable "tools" who think it's really cool to stand during the entire concert, even when all the people around them sit down.

But, back to the show. Darius Rucker was the selling-point of this concert for me. He was the main reason I wanted to go. I adore Brad Paisley, but I'd seen him twice before. Honestly, I don't listen to Dierks Bentley. He's okay, but not my fave.

"Hootie" was awesome! He even broke out an old-school Hootie and the Blowfish song..."Let Her Cry". It was incredible! That took me back to early college years...

The nice lady next to us took this...

The "tools"...

Hootie!

All 3 guys at the end...

We had a really good time while we were away, but were SO happy to get back to our sweet Caroline! She's got a cold again, so I hope we get some sleep tonight. Poor girl has been so fussy all afternoon, maybe she's worn herself out. She's such a great sleeper, that I worry she won't be comfy enough to sleep when she's sick. We'll just have to wait and see...

  1. Glad you had a great time at the concert and I liked all the pics. Trust me, it gets easier leaving them. My mom kept Alise tonight while we went out!
