FINALLY! I'm answering the questions several people asked...almost 2 months ago! I've had a few requests for the answers, and just never gotten around to it. Sorry!
Here goes...
Laura asked "How's the diet going?"...Well, let's just say the diet's on spring break while I am. I'm down about 15 pounds since the start of January...but I still want to lose 30 more. Ugh.
Kristy asked a lot of questions...
*Where did you go to college?
The better question might be "Where didn't you go to college?". I started at U of A (Fay.) for 3.5 years, got married, went to Westark Community College for about a year, then transferred to Arkansas Tech and commuted for about a year. I also took a summer class at NWACC, so I guess that makes 4 colleges to get a Bachelors degree in 6.5 years!
*How did you and your hubby meet?
We met in October 1996 at a frat party. He was sitting in a window at the top of a flight of stairs. I asked him where I could find a beer (I don't do cooler sludge punch) and he found me a Miller Lite. We won't go into the details of how old I was at the time...
We talked a lot that night, he asked for my number (and I insisted on his too), he called me two days later and then I stood him up for our first date! I'd never really dated a guy I didn't go to high school with, so it freaked me out that he was so nice and wanted to go out with me so badly. I thought he was a psycho stalker...but he wasn't. ☺
*How did you choose Caroline's name? (Did you and the hubs agree immediately on it? Who came up with it, you or him?)
Caroline was my Nanny's middle name. Also, we loved that she would have her own song..."Sweet Caroline". Once we found out she was a girl, we pretty much made the decision by the end of that day. We told our families a couple days later.
*What is your favorite (non-diet!!) food?
That's like asking me who my favorite child is. Well, actually, I guess that would be pretty easy...since I only have the one child right now. But you know what I mean. I love food. I can't play favorites.
*What is your favorite movie?
Wow...toughie! I'll have to list a few: Father of the Bride, Dirty Dancing, Sense and Sensibility, Glory, Dazed and Confused, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Bend It Like Beckham, Serendipity, Dead Poets Society
Sara in Georgia (no blog) asked...
*What subject and grade do you teach?
9th grade Civics
*What would you name Caroline if she was a boy?
We strongly considered Jake at the time, but now I think we like Thomas or Charles (Charlie)
*What would you name Caroline's sister if you had another daughter?
Probably Mary Kate (there are LOTS of Marys in my family), but we also like Sarah
*What's your favorite TV show?
Ugh, again with the "favorite" question! Too hard! Here's a few: How I Met Your Mother, Dancing With The Stars, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, House Hunters, Ace of Cakes, What Not to Wear, Designing Women, Dirty Jobs, Nip/Tuck, Family Guy
Krysta asked...
*Do you ever sleep? You have a baby, a job, you are sewing, you are a techie now, how do you do it all?
Yes! I sleep about 7 hours a night! I am a great multi-tasker, and I don't do any one thing for too long. Plus, Caroline goes to bed at 8 sharp, so that gives me 2-2.5 hours to do stuff. And in all honesty, my MIL (who babysits every day) helps out a LOT around the house during the day! I am blessed beyond belief!!
Lisa asked...
*What type of infertility did you or your husband have?
Honestly, we spent 2 years thinking it was me. The first time they tested him, they told us it was "normal". However, the lab used here locally must not have tested things as thoroughly as they did at the actual fertility clinic. After 2 years of poking and prodding me with no conclusive explanation, we were referred to a fertility specialist in Tulsa, and it was determined at the first appointment that hubby has a very low morphology. In plain English, this means that only about 4% of his "boys" are shaped normally, and therefore able to break through an egg. Therefore, IVF with ICSI was pretty much our only hope of getting pregnant. Thankfully it worked for us on the first try!!
For those of you who asked questions, I so sorry it took me so long to reply! I would be happy to answer any other questions...and I promise not to wait so long to answer again!!
Feel free to ask anything else...

It was fun reading your responses! I always wanted to name a boy Thomas and then I met and married Brad and knew I probably should get over that name as any little boy would be Thomas Thomas. Such a cute name though!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of the same favorite tv shows and movies. That's so great that you have such a wonderful MIL who helps you out so much!! Next
ReplyDeleteIt didn't let me finish! Next time you answer questions, I want to know if Caroline has any aunts and uncles.
ReplyDeleteOh I totally forgot that you thought he was psycho stalker! Man, it's been so long ago!! That just means we're old. (sigh) Good times.
