This is the fraternity house where we met. At the time (1996), it was the Alpha Kappa Lambda house. Now it is called Farmhouse.

This is us standing on the front steps of the house...where we spent most of the evening we first met. Thanks to Katie for reminding me that I actually met him while he was sitting in a second floor window at the top of a flight of stairs! We rang the doorbell and asked a bewildered-looking frat-boy to take this picture. They probably wondered what a couple of old people were doing standing on their doorstep!

Then we headed down Dickson Street to Jose's for lunch! This sign was on our table, and aside from it being cool that there is a sweet tea vodka...it reminded me of our Sweet Caroline!
Here is the church where we were married...St. Raphael's Catholic Church. Except 10 years ago on March 13 there was over a FOOT of snow on the ground! So much for a nice spring wedding! Guess it wasn't technically spring, huh?
Here's a funny story...This is a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne that my dad gave us on our wedding day. He said it was expensive (about $100) and told us to save it for a special occasion. Well, 10 years passed, and we just hadn't drank it yet. So we swung by my parents house to get it. When my step-dad brought it to the car, Darren decided to look up on his Blackberry how much it was valued at today. (It's a 1990 vintage.) The site he looked at had it valued anywhere from $300-$700!!!! We decided we couldn't drink it...yet! We are waiting another 10 years to see what it gets up to!
Always perfection!
Here is my gift! Darren didn't actually get me a gift ON our anniversary. We went shopping the next morning and this is what we came away with! It's a green quartz. Now, I know that's not a super rare gem...but I love it because it's a nice cross between the blue of an aquamarine (March's birthstone...our wedding month) and the light green of a peridot (Caroline's birthstone). It is surrounded by white sapphires (my birthstone).
I absolutely love it...whether he picked it out or not! :)

Last night we went to Grammy and Pops' to pick up girly. Here she is with her little cousin, Hunter, from California. Their daddies were hoping for a little Pack-n-Play cagefight. Not so much!
This may be my favorite moment from this whole weekend, though...
Here's our Caddy-girl in her new "Jenny Jump Up"!
She doesn't really jump in it yet, but she definitely enjoys just hanging around.
We'll have to work in the jumping later!

miss caddy gets more precious every single time i see her! your faytown pictures make me miss nwa! LOVE the new ring. absolutely GORGEOUS!!! happy anniversary!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous celebration of your anniversary! You guys look like you had so much fun and are so in lurrrrvve. And Caroline is, always, more precious every day.
ReplyDeleteI love the Jenny Jump Up pictures...she's so cute!! I just realized that I forgot to ever get one for Kate...oh well, next baby I guess!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a GREAT weekend and your ring is a beauty!! That's so funny about the champagne. You better drink it though and make sure it isn't icky. We opened a $350 bottle of wine to celebrate our engagement w/ my family and it was AWFUL!! It was a 1978-the year we were born. Quite the disappointment but a fun story nonetheless!!
It looks like you guys had a great weekend! I love Ruth Chris, and Joes. I hope the two of you have many more happy years!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you guys had a good getaway! I love that you stopped by the Farmhouse and rang the bell to get a picture taken! I used to go to church at St. Raphael's a lot when I went to school at U of A! Your ring is gorgeous - I saw it yesterday when we were talking but didn't realize it was new! AND, Caroline looks so cute in her jumper!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I cracked up when I saw that you call the unmentionables in my last post "Easter Eggs"!! TOO FUNNY! :)
Caroline is sooo sweet! Glad it was fun and I love the frat house pic!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had a great weekend. My 10th anniversary is coming up in June. I hope we have a little getaway too! It was so good to meet you the other night. It's funny how you can feel like you just "know" someone through blogging. It's nice to put and actual real live face with all of the happenings in your world.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the pictures. I think I have a few pics of Erin and I actually playing in the snow the next morning after the wedding. Great dancing by the way! Tim and I count Ruth's Chris as our fave. Our first was in Atlanta 10 years ago!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated anniversary!! Can't wait to meet you all. :)

ReplyDeleteLisa :)
Congrats on 10 years - that's really something to celebrate especially in this age! It looks like you had a great time. Love me some Jose's but haven't ever gotten those nachos - may have to give them a try next time I'm on the hill! Nice job on the ring - beautiful!
